Former Kibwezi legislator, Kalembe Ndile has urged agencies tasked with fighting graft in the country to investigate suspected rampant graft in Kenya Power and Lighting Company.
Kalembe said massive corruption involving deliberate inaccuracies in billing system was derailing one of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four agenda on industrialization.
“The president has done well in ensuring many Kenyans are connected to electricity but rampant corruption within ranks of Kenya Power was derailing this gain,” said Kalembe who is a director of Tana Athi Water Works Development Authority.
He said the DPP and Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) should swiftly move in and probe serious corruption allegations in the energy sector.
