BHOPAL: A day after uproar in the council meet of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) over the allegations related to issue of completion certificate to over 100 incomplete building projects, urban development and housing minister Maya Singh directed for removal of four BMC officials, here on Wednesday.
Expressing her strong displeasure over issuing completion certificate to incomplete residential projects by the civic body, the minister also expressed the possibility of serious financial irregularities in this matter, said an official press release.
Singh also met Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) chairman Antony deSa and discussed the matter in detail. Officials in the directorate have also been instructed to carry out a parallel inquiry in the matter.
On Tuesday, after the ruckus by Congress corporators, mayor Alok Sharma, under pressure ordered an investigation into the matter. Investigation headed by BMC commissioner Priyanka Das would completed within 10-days. Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, Das hinted that inquiry could take more than 10-days.
Four top officials in the building permission wing have been replaced and given other charge within the BMC.
Source said that 140 completion certificates have been issued between 2015-17.
Subashish Banerjee, chief city planner has been given task to head the building permission section. Banerjee would replace BMC additional commissioner Malika Nigam, who has an impeccable track record.
